The Tonatiuh solar plant harnesses solar radiation to generate electricity using photovoltaic technology. Its addition to our energy mix allows us to use a renewable source and helps reduce the carbon footprint of our operation.
From its use in our industrial processes to its treatment and destination, we manage water through a controlled process.
Water is part of our industrial processes.
Wastewater is treated at our Tlaloc Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).
Treated water is reused in industrial processes, in accordance with the requirements established for each use.
Water that meets the established conditions may be returned to the environment.
The Tlaloc WWTP operates continuously to treat the wastewater generated by our industrial operation. The process is monitored through technical indicators that allow us to verify its performance and the quality of the treated water.
Efficiency achieved in the wastewater treatment process.

Continuous operation
Monitored parameters
The treatment process and water quality are monitored continuously, with analyses carried out by a certified external laboratory and under the applicable criteria and provisions of the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) and the Salvadoran Water Authority (ASA).
Our industrial process generates sugarcane bagasse, a by-product of sugarcane processing. We use this resource as biomass to generate renewable energy through a cogeneration process, which contributes to the energy supply of our operation.
We put sugarcane bagasse to use.
We turn this by-product of our operation into a resource for energy generation.
We generate renewable energy.
We use bagasse as biomass to generate energy through our cogeneration process.
We supply our own operation.
The energy generated contributes to meeting the energy needs of our operation.
Our commitment goes beyond our operation. Through Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, we contribute to the wellbeing of our employees, the development of communities and the care of our environment.
At Ingenio La Cabaña we understand Corporate Social Responsibility as a way of relating responsibly to the people, communities and surroundings of which we are also a part.
Through Sembrando Bienestar con Ingenio (Sowing Wellbeing with Ingenio), we promote initiatives in education, health, the environment, sports and community development, seeking to create sustainable opportunities and relationships over time.
We create opportunities for children, teenagers and young people through initiatives that strengthen their education and development.
548 direct beneficiaries and 2,192 indirect beneficiaries
We promote comprehensive wellbeing through prevention, physical and mental health initiatives and support for our employees and their families.
Vaccination · Dental health · Eye health · Blood donation · Mental health · Nutrition
+200 people benefited from the eye-health campaign
We work alongside the communities around us to respond to specific needs and support initiatives that contribute to their development.
Guardianes del Agua (Water Guardians)
We raise awareness among children and young people about the importance of caring for water and the environment, through initiatives such as river clean-ups and tree planting.
Our way of growing also means caring for the resources that make our operation possible and the environment we share.
