The story begins with a small, artisanal cane mill in the 1920s, where cane from nearby areas was processed.
Ingenio La Cabaña was nationalized and became one of the sugar mills managed by the State. During this period a distillery was installed to produce ethanol as an alternative fuel.
In 1996 the nationalized sugar mills were privatized and Ingenio La Cabaña was formed with the participation of family members, workers and other shareholders.
During this period the company entered a stage of growth, with improvements in efficiency and productivity, a stronger focus on quality, and an evolution driven by the demands of the international market, specialization and diversification.
